That is not necessarily a bad thing.
If I remember correctly, the split-up of Standard Oil did not harm the shareholders at the time, but brought many of them large profits afterwards.

Especially because you can then concentrate your investment on the more successful part.

@UndNun I have already explained that. The split is only good if all companies are independently viable, but not if they are a piece of the puzzle that creates mutual synergies (which are then missing)
