The IOTA Foundation has been promising the moon since 2017, but simply not delivering - until Wednesday of this week. That's when the test network actually went $SMR (+2,72 %) in which new functions such as smart contracts for the IOTA network can be tested in the future.

For the boomers here, this corresponds to a "dividend" of 3-4%, based on the "ex-dividend" day of IOTA 😉.
Even if the staking period for $SMR (+2,72 %) has expired, you can $MIOTA can still be staked for another token, Assembly. This token is supposed to bring DeFi and Co into the IOTA network, but is currently struggling with funding problems.
