My path to financial freedom... 💰🆓

... who wouldn't want that? To finally quit your job and only do what you want to do? Not that this necessarily means quitting work completely, but at least only doing what you really enjoy... My office job is certainly not one of them.

I've had this dream since I started working, since the end of my studies about 7 years ago. And it's clear to me that this can only be achieved through successful investing. You can't achieve that with a "normal" job.

I've been investing in the stock market since I was little. Initially with my father and small amounts and at some point on my own. Over the last 20 years or so, it has grown to a considerable sum. Of course, there have been ups and downs, and most people will remember the financial crisis and coronavirus. But that toughens you up and over time you learn to leave emotions aside and enjoy the rollercoaster ride... 🎢

👉🏻 But now the big question: "How much do you actually need?"

Of course, this is completely individual. Some feel financially free with 500,000, others from 10 million. 4 million deposit value set for myself. 🎯

I'm currently at just under 1.1 million, so there's still a way to go and I'd like to go there together with you!

If you want, you can follow my trades here. Let's talk about investing. I look forward to your suggestions! 👋🏼

Yours,

Part_Time_Joe

For 20 years, just under 5% return is not really much, is it? The portfolio only goes back to 09/25.

@Derspekulant1 The custody account has been around since 2018, when I started with 50k. Over the last 7 years, 600,000 was added through deposits. On average over the last 7 years, the investment amount was 400,000 euros. This means the return per year was between 15 and 20%

I was 11 20 years ago when I bought my first share

@Derspekulant1 One more remark. I've only been on getquin since today. Therefore, the depot has only "existed" here since September. As I said, the depot has existed in this form since 2018

@Part_Time_Joe okay and how come the performance is not at 20%? EK's and performance should be correct.
image de profil
@Derspekulant1 How can you not realize that? If he has only been tracking his assets here at getquin since day X, this is probably the only return that has been generated and shown in this period.

He has already explained how long the portfolio has existed and how he started.

@Derspekulant1 You'll have to ask the app developers. My YTD performance here is 4.5% starting from September 14, 2025 - as the first day (for whatever reason).

Apart from that, I trade actively. I have over 150 trades per year. That can't be shown in the review either.

I hope that answers your question. You'll just have to believe the rest... 😉

@Iwant_money_423 moderate your tone. The well getquin very well if you connect a depot and or enter invoices because it did the same for me and my depot is older than my account. But nice try.

@Derspekulant1 He didn't explain anything about it either.

From your comment, it's that typical envious thing...what are you trying to do? Are you trying to convict him of lying? What are you trying to do?

Let him have his returns, who cares? You seem to be annoyed that he didn't track it "correctly"...

image de profil
@Iwant_money_423 yes mega envious, my performance is probably a bit better. Even better than yours 😂
image de profil
@Derspekulant1 Congratulations on the big willy 😂. I'm not measuring myself against others. But if we were to do that for fun, then my real estate asset class would probably clearly outperform you.

@Iwant_money_423 if you didn't understand investing, a loan for a house is not an asset until it's paid off, it's just debt, but you probably knew that 😂 I don't even have to tell you here what I have and what I don't have, but just as a side fact I'm self-employed and own a company that's probably worth a little more than your little house from the bank 😊 why don't you use the time and get your portfolio in shape, maybe you can then measure yourself 😬 real estate in Germany has been worth Pa for the last 100 years. Not even 3% so you should have paid off your house 13 years ago for you to outperform me, next time at least use a calculator first 👍🏽

Congratulations! I probably won't manage four million, unless I get older than expected and inherit more than expected. But I'll probably have the million in 8-10 years. That's enough to cover the pension gap without any heirs!

@Wehyernese Thank you! I don't think it's so much about the absolute sum at the end. In my opinion, the standard of living doesn't differ significantly between 1 million or 5 million.

Neither is enough for the propagated Instagram lifestyle with Ferraris and private jets. But both are enough to be able to sleep a little more peacefully at night and at least not have to worry about upcoming bills!

Fingers crossed that you make it sooner!

@Robin_Nikl Thank you!

Keep your fingers crossed that the plan works out. I started late and didn't have the opportunity to put anything aside beforehand, so I'm trying to accumulate a little until I retire in order to maintain a reasonable standard of living.

Congratulations on your journey so far and I'm sure you'll reach your goal 👍🏻

Don't let the negative comments get to you. You don't owe anyone here an explanation. Unfortunately, some users here think they are the biggest and have to check every post. Fortunately, this only applies to a small part of the community

@German1 Thank you very much! Ah, the internet... who doesn't know it! 😉

I'm just looking forward to the exchange. I think you can learn something from everyone. And the nice thing about the stock market is that we can all win and nobody takes anything away from anyone!

So here's to good investments and good luck to you! 👍🏼

Congratulations on the considerable sum.
I keep asking myself what will change when you reach 4 million. Everyone has their own magic amount, but I doubt that I will suddenly drop everything and just chill out with the 10 million.
I enjoy being successful, so why stop at the magic number.
And what's more, your standard of living rises with your success, so the "financial freedom" of your 4 million, for example, moves even higher ☺️

@7Trader You're probably right somewhere. But I have included this lifestyle inflation in my total.

I currently live on around 5,000 euros net per month (pure salary). All profits from the securities account remain there. And to be honest, that's enough for me. I have everything I want and need and don't really have to do without anything as long as I maintain a "normal" lifestyle.

For "my financial freedom", the custody account has to replace this amount (which is slightly higher due to social security contributions currently covered by the employer) and a margin of safety (at least a factor of 2, preferably 3-4) in order to be able to sit out stock market crashes and lean periods and continue to increase the basic stock. That's roughly how I arrived at the 4 million...

@Part_Time_Joe I see. I think it's great that you've laid out your plan like that. But I suspect that in 10 years' time you'll have deviated again.
Life is not a straight line
All the best on your continued journey to independence 🤑🤞🏼

@7Trader That can be good! But we'll take it as it comes! Good luck to you too! 👍🏼☺️

@Part_Time_Joe I find your "Paypal strategy" interesting... I like to watch and learn. "Disgraced values" ... exciting! followist out! :) Personally, I sold Paypal for 250 in 2021 and haven't thought about buying since then...
2
image de profil
@MainTyp This is the second time I have used Paypal. A few months ago I sold for around 80 euros before I went back in after it collapsed.

Maybe one more sentence about my strategy. I try to find stocks where I can sit it out even if I'm wrong (e.g. Grenke). Ideally, the company is profitable and growing! 👍🏼

Congratulations on your first million, which is the hardest. I would be interested to know whether you want to reach the missing 3 million only through winnings (I would find that exciting) or also make deposits? And if so, what ratio are you planning?
And last but not least, what timeframe have you set for this?

@Multibagger Hi Chris! Thank you! ☺️

To say it up front, no. I work full-time on the side and can save about 2,500 - 3,000 euros net per month. I share fixed costs with my girlfriend and apart from that I don't have a family yet which definitely helps with saving... ;)

I roughly assume that I have an increase in assets of 10% or more per year (through work + investment income). So my time frame would be around 14 years. Hopefully a little less ... 👍🏼

Whether it will work... who knows. A lot can happen in the future. Family, children, etc. Maybe my priorities will change again. But as things stand today, I'd like to have tried it at least once 😊

@Part_Time_Joe The last sentence is the right attitude. If you throw in the towel right from the start, you can't make it. That's what I thought with my project. Everyone tells you at first that it's not possible!
10% p.a. is not an unrealistic target, even if you invest less riskily than I did.
1
image de profil
@Multibagger Definitely. I'm looking forward to watching your trading. I tried my hand at CFDs some time ago... wasn't particularly successful. I let it go again ... 😂
1
image de profil
@Part_Time_Joe I don't do CFD either. It's hopeless if you still have a job.

Nice amount in the portfolio, but the composition doesn't appeal to me. To each his own.

@CashDividendGamer Thank you very much! In the end, many roads lead to Rome 😉

Nice depto size ! Congratulations at such a young age! Top! If you don't enjoy your job, then do something else! Your mind should give you that freedom for free.
1
image de profil
@Hodlinvestor Well, it's not that simple. I think having fun at work is a topic in itself. If someone really enjoys their job, i.e. has found their calling in it, then that's the 6 in the lottery. But in my opinion, very few people do.
1
image de profil
You're right about that. I also believe that very few people have their dream job.

But someone with the size of your portfolio would have the freedom to look for their dream job.
If he had one at all, that is 😬
2
image de profil
@Hodlinvestor Maybe you're right. But I don't think the size of the portfolio is enough for that. All it would take is one misfortune and most of the millions would be gone. But maybe these are just excuses that you tell yourself so that you don't have to take the step into the unknown

Very interesting values, and great portfolio! May I ask how old you are?

@Chris_legt_an Thank you very much! 31 ... soon 32 :)
image de profil
So congratulations on the millions. Well done. But the portfolio wouldn't be for me. And only around 400 euros a month according to the forecast? And then not even anything in each... would be nothing for me.
Nevertheless, all the best!

Very interesting to see a trader with 150 trades/year who is very successful. Until now I thought they only existed in N24 documentaries.
Greatest respect on my part.

Very very strong, but I still have one question. How many wins have you finally. . What is your performance?
Thank you very much in advance 😘

A great sum, but the composition shows that it took longer than necessary. Much would have been better off in an ETF.
