How long did it take?

@Timmy2 I can't say exactly, because there was also a house purchase in between (when I sold all my securities). But you can roughly say: 22 years.

How does it feel? Still surreal?

@JR7
Surprisingly unspectacular.

I had been working towards this number for years and then there it was. No fireworks, no special moment - rather a deep satisfaction. The real success was not the number itself, but the journey to it and the knowledge that perseverance and patience had paid off.

But as a well-known former soccer goalkeeper used to say: "Keep going, keep going!"

@DusselDuck I always find it fascinating when I hear this from "successful" people. It's never when you reach your goal, but how you get there. Congratulations!

@DusselDuck to most its always unspectacular. Just another day in office. This made me remember feeling when I changed my 20+ years used car for new six digit sport one. It was more statement to days when I was going ahead with just discipline and vision. Congrats!

@DusselDuck clean strong 👍

@JR7 Probably quite normal, because you work your way up to these sums quite slowly, so it's not really surprising if you were at 800 or 900k shortly before. :D

@Timmy2 that would be financial freedom with the right dividend stocks
@Korni1987 What do you define as financial freedom? The next question would be if he had the dividend shares, would he already have the 1 million by now?

Even with a 1.5% withdrawal rate for 1 million, it's a decent monthly "additional income". That certainly makes a lot of things possible or gives peace of mind for some things. Consider total net return, not just the dividend (excluding share price).

Congratulations - when I reach this goal, I'm going to plan to celebrate somehow and treat myself and the family to something nice. Who didn't dream of being able to call themselves a "millionaire" when they were little?

@Krush82 whereby inflation will eventually turn us all into millionaires

@CaYaRo only if you get old enough or save enough. With 2% inflation, I would need 500k to retire as I do today.

And that's only if my income increases at a reasonable rate. I would also have to save well for the 500k.

I'm always amazed that people don't even take 2 minutes to type a few words for a brand like this 😅

Congratulations 💪🏼💪🏼
Very cool brand!

Is that all-in or just capital market assets?

@Wealth-Accelerator I can tell you in my own case. The emotional idea of achieving a 7-digit rating and the real experience have nothing to do with each other. At least for me. It's not the feeling of "done". At that moment, the 2 million light bulb immediately went on in my head - and so it feels exactly the same as before. What's more, you're never satisfied with the path you've taken - you're still somehow always tinkering with the strategy. It doesn't become an autopilot.

@gloinvest I see it the same way.
Nevertheless, I think it's particularly nice for the community to read a bit about how you got there. Because it's not as normal for the community as it is for the person who arrives there.
And most people are certainly happy to be inspired.

But simply posting a screenshot doesn't change the experience for you, nor does it create any great added value for the community. At least if you haven't been able to visibly follow a member's journey over the last few months and years.

@Wealth-Accelerator I've actually been with GG since 2023. Admittedly, I haven't been active for a long time.

@DusselDuck I have at least one indication in your bio that you've been around for a very long time. No offense meant at all. I'm very happy for you 👍🏼

@Wealth-Accelerator It's true that a community thrives on as much information and detail as possible. However, you should also understand that not every forum member may want to get naked in every situation. That's not part of the compulsory program here, what do you think? The supposed anonymity on the web is often very tempting.
image de profil
@MozartsGeist
Everything is fine.
When I wrote, there wasn't even a thank you under the screenshot.

I think anonymity is an incredibly important asset in this forum! Nevertheless, I think you can provide a few hints that help the community even if you keep your identity. I was just questioning what added value a post like this provides.

I have one more question, dear. How did you finance the house purchase? Cash or credit? I'm planning to do the same. I would be delighted if you could help me with some information 💓
Thank you very much in advance
image de profil
@Aminmeskini 20% equity and 80% loan.
I was then able to shorten the loan term considerably with annual unscheduled repayments.
1
image de profil
@Aminmeskini I would probably rather cut off my left arm than take a 6-digit sum out of my securities account if it were to be close to zero again :-)
3
image de profil
@DusselDuck does it make more sense than paying the full amount directly?
image de profil
@Krush82 I know, it's already extremely difficult for me 😔
image de profil
@Aminmeskini I would never liquidate/sell an entire portfolio in order to finance a property.
1
image de profil
@Krush82 depends on which properties are involved and what the interest rate situation is at the time of the house purchase/construction
image de profil
@DusselDuck Thank you very much for your reply 💘

image de profil
@Aminmeskini When financing real estate, the highest possible equity ratio is the top priority. Whether and for whom a property makes sense is again an individual question. Does a "nasty couple" need their own house? Possibly not in every case. Does it make sense for a family with children, I think so!
1
image de profil
@MozartsGeist We are married and have four children. I think it makes a lot of sense for us. I will continue to save diligently and hopefully buy a house in a few years, God willing 🙏
1
image de profil
@Aminmeskini This is completely understandable for me and, from my point of view, a desirable added value for a family.

Is it possible to achieve with 1k usd invest a month 🫠?

@Arabov That depends on how many years you have. But usually: yes!

@Arabov of course;
a monthly saving of € 1,000 based on an estimated average index return of 7.16% p.a., results in a final sum of € 1,026,566.55 after appr. 28 years

Congratulations my dear. I hope that I will also see this number at the age of 52. Top.

Congratulations to you! 👍 Great achievement! A mark that we probably all have in our sights in the course of wealth accumulation. What's interesting for me personally is the changing view of such amounts (inflation). When I was a child, "millionaire" was the umbrella term when it came to wealth. Today I see it as an intermediate stage and that's how it will probably develop in the future.
