JEFFERIES rates MTU Aero Engines AG as 'Buy'

$$MTX (-5,98 %)

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX Analyst) - The analyst firm Jefferies has left its rating for MTU at "Buy" with a target price of 430 euros. In the midst of the defense debate, analyst Chloe Lemarie also reviewed her assumptions and ranking in the commercial aircraft sector in her industry commentary published on Friday. MTU becomes her "top pick" in this sector, followed by Rolls-Royce and Safran. More positive price drivers are emerging for the engine manufacturer, especially as the comparative basis from the first quarter of the previous year is low. It remains neutral for Airbus due to limited delivery momentum for the time being./tih/ag

MTU does 100% of the maintenance for the Bundeswehr and is part of the consortium for a new fighter jet. All of this is not yet properly priced into the share price

They don't even make 20% of sales in defense, or am I wrong?
Not quite cheap but will still rise.......

Aviation is a growth market and MTU is involved in the right, forward-looking engine programs.
The company is experiencing high demand for the geared turbofan family from Pratt & Whitney, which is used in the Airbus A320neo, and for the GE9X engine for the Boeing 777X.
European engine giants MTU Aero Engines and Safran Helicopter Engines have signaled that their efforts to develop and produce an engine for a future European military helicopter are slowly making progress by establishing a joint venture.
MTU is one of the world's leading companies in the development and production of engines for combat aircraft. It makes a significant contribution to the success of the Eurofighter Typhoon EJ200 engine with a share of around 30 percent. It is also an important partner in the F110 and F414 engine programs for the US F-15, F-16 and F-18 fighter aircraft.

MTU is also playing a key role in the development of the new engine for the future European fighter aircraft. Under the leadership of the joint venture founded by MTU and Safran Aircraft Engines

@Tenbagger2024 Let's wait and see. There are a few others who are much better involved in defense. But it's definitely a profit engineer.

But it hasn't quite run as hot as Rheinmetall etc. yet.
And the maintenance contracts are recurring revenues
