Amazon

Someone has to explain that to me. The figures from $AMZN (-7,55 %) are excellent and the outlook also looks strong. But why is it falling?

Profit taking. This is not unusual after good figures. It doesn't have to be like this (see Microsoft), but it can be.

It's all just background noise, the share is good and will continue to go up in the future.

@Charmin probably. I will remain invested in any case. It's a long investment for me anyway
image de profil
@Charmin is due to cloud growth

@Charmin has nothing to do with profit-taking, Aw's growth is simply not cool

Cloud segment AWS grew ‘only’ 18% in revenue compared to Google 32% and Microsoft 38%. Spooked Investors. Not me, i’m holding long term 😀

@Investingyoung Can be part of it, but it's not the only thing.

Compared to Microsoft's cloud growth (Azure) with 39.5%, AWS only had 17.5%. Almost everyone is now only looking at this because AWS accounts for the majority of Amazon's profits and growth. Microsoft and Google have set the bar very high when it comes to the cloud sector.

@Derspekulant1 AWS is already significantly larger. Rule of Large Numbers takes effect at some point

@Bubu_98 Nevertheless, Google and Microsoft have clearly and emphatically beaten them.

@Derspekulant1 I saw on QUALTRIM that Amazon's AWS is already worth over 100MRD. But as you say, Microsoft's cloud system is growing faster and more efficiently. They can get their existing customers to use the service easier than Amazon.

I think we will start with a correction of the whole market after the earning season📉

I also sold quickly yesterday evening 😈 The profit was secured and if I wish to do so now, an entry at a lower price would be possible...

@Iwamoto Profits are always good. As much as I want to sell to lock in profits, I'm staying true to my strategy. I hope that's not a mistake. 🫣🫣🫣

It's just profit-taking. Did you notice that the share was doing well before that?

Monday triggers the savings plan, so it can go down a bit😁

The stock market is often not rational. And Tec is not having a good day today anyway.

Amazon gloomy earnings forecast overshadows better-than-expected results https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/31/amazon-amzn-q2-earnings-report-2025.html

A few investors are bothered by the higher expenditure on AI in the coming quarter. In my view, this is a necessary investment for an even more profitable future.

@ManuelDietrich It is due to cloud growth, the most important area at Amazon.

I have been with $AMZN for a number of years, but it always felt like it was going down after the last 5 quarterly figures. It doesn't matter in the long term because the overall trend is upwards - but it's still somehow striking
image de profil
@Zwick123 That's what always amazes me. But as long as the figures are good and it's going up, I don't really care about anything else.
image de profil
@Semos25 yes, but simply 10% up according to the figures would be nice

Very very earnings call, some questions were not answered properly and high expectations

The figures are not everything. There are many more key figures than turnover and profit. Listen to the latest episode of bon Börsenliebe

We are slowly but surely coming to our summer slump, I have the impression,
But in August and September things will pick up again

The market participants have sold more shares at a given point in time than they have acquired, so the price of the investment security on offer has fallen due to the supply and demand norm of the market economy.
