God does not favor the bold.
It just looks that way because the brave ones who survived and didn't go broke tell very cool stories.
And no books have been written about all the bold losers, so they are forgotten.

Or to put it in the words of Howard Marks
"There are old investors, and there are bold investors, but there are no old bold investors."

@caliventures Let's put it this way: when Charles Munger says:

"The idea of diversification makes sense up to a point - if you don't know what you're doing. If you want the standard result and don't want to embarrass yourself, then of course you should diversify. But nobody is entitled to a lot of money if they take this view. It's like knowing that 2 plus 2 equals 4. Any idiot can diversify a portfolio."

By “if you don't know what you're doing” he probably meant you and me and 98% of this platform. 😅
