I have shares, ETFs, cryptos and a few other things myself. But the absolute best investment in my life was my owner-occupied property financed at rock-bottom interest rates with a lifelong fixed interest rate. The current and maximum monthly payment of €1,230 (for 840 sqm of land and 180 sqm of living space, close to the city and highway) is constantly falling. I'm happy that I won't have to pay rents of €2.5k or more in old age like many others, I'll have something to rent out in 25-30 years (then probably rents of €3k or more) and something to pass on to my children. Due to the very low monthly burden that continues to fall, I have more and more leeway to invest in shares, etc. I would do it again and again and recommend it to everyone when the time is right.
