Why I am now investing heavily in $AMD (+0,96 %) and expect a doubling

I have decided to build a larger position in $AMD (+0,96 %) (Advanced Micro Devices) as I am convinced that the company is on the verge of a significant growth phase. Here are my main reasons:

1. market leadership in the chip sector

$AMD (+0,96 %) has in recent years $INTC (-1,82 %) in many areas, particularly in high-performance CPUs and GPUs. Their new Zen architectures and RDNA chipsets continue to set the standard. With the growing demand for AI hardware and data centers will $AMD (+0,96 %) continue to benefit.

2 AI boom and data centers

The AI revolution is in full swing and AMD is well positioned to gain market share through server processors and GPUs. The competitive pressure from $NVDA (+6,09 %) is high, but $AMD (+0,96 %) often offers better value for money and could benefit from growing demand.

3. solid fundamentals and attractive valuation

$AMD (+0,96 %) has recorded strong sales and earnings growth in recent years. After the recent market correction, the valuation now seems attractive again, especially compared to other tech giants such as $NVDA (+6,09 %)

4. partnerships and future projects

Through strategic partnerships with companies such as $MSFT (+2,15 %) , $SONY (+0,25 %) and the major cloud providers, the company secures $AMD (+0,96 %) long-term revenue streams. The foray into the field of AI accelerators and custom chips is also very promising.

5 Technical analysis suggests a trend reversal

From a technical perspective $AMD (+0,96 %) stabilized after the recent correction. The support lines are holding and there are signs of a possible upward trend. A retest of the all-time highs appears to be within reach.

Conclusion:

$AMD (+0,96 %) combines strong growth potential with a currently attractive valuation and long-term growth drivers such as AI, gaming and data centers. I am convinced that we could see a doubling of the share price in the coming months - and now seems to be an ideal time to get in.

I'd like to pick them up a bit cheaper, I'll wait and if it doesn't work out, tough luck ☺️ but no real strong reaction today, I think we'll see even lower prices. ✌️

@BamBamInvest I thought you would buy $TMDX 😅

@Memo0606 I have a few companies on my watchlist. But no freely available capital yet, it will take some time. There are always good opportunities ✌️

@BamBamInvest What price are you going for?

@user1d7gf8465j461735 I don't know yet, I'll keep an eye on the next few weeks. I would like to get in under 100. But I also already have $ASML, it shouldn't get that far for me.

@DK2016 what exactly did you buy ;-)?

All legitimate points, but I was convinced by point 5. I looked at the chart myself and it looks pretty good.

So highly valued. Fair at 90 Eus. 1st tranche possibly at 80

@Tomtom12 How did you calculate the fair value?

Yesterday, Bank of America canceled its buy recommendation for AMD and significantly lowered its price target from 180$ to 155$. Just for your information.

@Alfred16 What banks or analysts say is as irrelevant as a cowpat. When the share price reaches 300, they raise the target to 400.

@Alfred16 Very good, may still fall a little more. In the meantime, I have the feeling that the Amalysts are deliberately depressing the prices and can then collect them again at a lower price.

@BamBamInvest exactly the same with HIMS. Hardly corrected and Amazon does not offer individual meds, immediately from buy to sell :D

@Konstantin85 yes, they probably want to get in a little cheaper 😂, the price targets are diced anyway, much more important is the content, why they give a sell rating. It usually makes sense to read this to form your own opinion.
@BamBamInvest Yes, in any case. After the crash, BlackRock doubled its position 😅 The only reason was that Amazon could allegedly grab market share.

@BamBamInvest You're absolutely right, of course.

"After the last correction, the valuation seems attractive again" - I would be interested to know how you measure the value of $AMD here? The P/E ratio of 114 seems to be anything but cheap, and even compared to $NVDA, I don't see AMD as more favorably valued, but rather more expensive.

@TheStoic The P/E ratio alone is often not enough to assess the attractiveness of a share. It is important to look at it in the context of growth, margins and market position. AMD may have a high P/E ratio because the market expects high growth rates. Compared to NVIDIA, AMD might appear less attractive in other aspects such as market share or margins, but also offer opportunities if these expectations are met. It would be interesting to also consider PEG ratio (price/earnings growth ratio) or other metrics such as cash flow.
image de profil
@WinStreak77 yes, that's why I asked, I only saw the high P/E ratio and I would have been interested to know how else you calculated the value.
You can forget the P/E ratio for growth stocks. AMD is more favorably valued in terms of both PEG and EV/Sales. However, I doubt that AMD can match Nvidia in terms of large language model usage.

Also bought a couple yesterday 💪🏻
Chart-technically rather downward. However, there could be a small bounce. MACD: negative. SMA 20/50/100/200 negative. Support 123 dollars, let's see if it holds. Would enter at 110 dollars if necessary.

I've built up a decent short position on amd instead.
