$KOG - Kongsberg Group in difficulties

$KOG (-3,69 %) The Kongsberg Group now has to pay a fine of 250 million US dollars to Malaysia because its own Scandinavian country did not allow a contract it had signed. That hits them pretty hard. And if you read the current valuation, it doesn't look so good after all. They have also just restructured and spun off parts of the group. I think I'll leave it alone for now.

You do not have to, but a corresponding claim is pending. In such contracts, export ban risks are usually borne entirely by the buyer. Kongsberg is not responsible for the fail here either. Nevertheless, payments made to Malaysia will have to be refunded. But that will be it.

The restructuring serves to improve efficiency and create two better-positioned companies. This is absolutely positive. Although Kongsberg Maritime is growing solidly, it is currently slowing down the company's defense block. In my view, the spin-off was a very smart move, also in terms of investments by institutional and private investors. I now have the choice of whether I want the defense pure play or the maritime equipment supplier.👍🏻

No need to panic at all.🤷🏼‍♂️ I think you're misunderstanding the context.

This is probably one of the absolute top picks at OSL, a rock solid business and one of the Norways best run companies. An order book of over €14bn this little news story is nothing. I continue to add to my favorite defense company.
