Luxury topped up

I'm convinced in the long term - you don't rebuild brands in a few years and luxury will always work in my view. How do you see it?

@ClaraLvt I think if a standard bag, for example from the core brand Louis Vuitton, costs at least 2k then that sounds like luxury.

@M96_ look at the people queuing at Louis Vuitton stores, they are not the same who buys Hermes for example. The same goes for Rolex vs Pathek. Ones overproduced to please the middle class and the other one for the rich who’ll buy your product no matter the state of the economy

Thats like saying Porsche is not Luxury because its not Bugatti or Rolex isnt luxury because patek is more expensive.
Of course you will see different types of people driving a Boxster than a Bugatti Veyron, the pricing is still luxury with high margins

@ClaraLvt You are confusing "luxury" and "rich".

Most of the luxury brands are not targetting rich people but people that want to *look* rich.

Most of the rich people (old money) could not care less about the brands of LVMH. That's why those brands are struggling when the middle class is struggling.

I agree that $MC is not a luxury. They have incorporated too many non-luxury brands.
If luxury, then it's the right thing. For me there are only 2.

@Thesaurus I make a distinction between luxury and lifestyle. $MC is lifestyle for me. They have 2-3 luxury brands, but the rest is just lifestyle for people who like to show more appearance than reality

LVMH is not luxury, premium is but not luxury, luxury is Hermes, Ferrari, etc...
