I am also still a student and have the €1,000 tax-free allowance. How do I get the €12,000 basic tax-free allowance? @Joshua

•@bull_investor_1998 Via a voluntary tax return for the year in question. For us (who do not receive any other taxable income), capital gains of up to 12,000 euros fall within the basic tax-free allowance. Anyone can draw this amount from any source whatsoever. But of course your broker doesn't know this and that's why I pay tax on profits even if they exceed the exemption amount. I then get these back from the tax office a little late with a tax return.
However, I recommend that you do your own research. I'm not a tax advisor myself, but I'm only reproducing what I think I've understood from what my tax advisor and father have told me :)
