Considered entry into crypto

I'm thinking of taking the plunge into crypto soon, but want to invest in established cryptos like $BTC (+1,19 %) , $ETH (+2,08 %) etc.

Which platform can you recommend to me and what do you think of the idea?

First, get to grips with Bitcoin and crypto and understand the fundamental differences. After that, I don't know whether you will still be interested in investing in $ETH. I have ruled it out for myself as well as all other cryptos/shitcoins. As with all investments, first familiarize yourself, develop a plan and then invest.

As I only invest in Bitcoin, I only use the corresponding only platforms. In this case, that would be Strike and 21bitcoin.

What @Ash says :)
It's important that you don't blindly invest in the crypto market and think that you have to diversify cryptocurrencies in the same way as you do with shares. Otherwise you'll burn your fingers very quickly :)

Go slowly into the $BTC market. I would leave out $ETH. Because it will never come close to $BTC.
Make a savings plan and invest money that doesn't hurt you. There will be times when it goes down again.
I used http://pocketbitcoin.com/
I am very satisfied.
1.5% fee - yes, it can be cheaper. But the sats arrive in my wallet on time every Monday.
Of course you can test Coinbase or others first.

But in the long term, if you really want to invest in $BTC permanently, you can't avoid a hardware wallet.
Keep it simple....

In my opinion, it’s always safer and smarter to invest in a cold wallet, even if it costs 30, 40, or 50 euros — like the Trezor, which is the one I personally use. By storing your crypto in a cold wallet, you have full control over your assets and don’t rely on third parties.

When you buy and keep your coins on an online platform, they’re technically not really yours. You’re trusting the platform to hold them for you, which exposes you to several risks — including scams, hacking attacks, platform shutdowns, or even bankruptcy.

If you’re serious about crypto and care about long-term security, a cold wallet is a must.

Use Bitpanda, it is quite expensive but is regulated in Austria.

21bitcoin is reputable and can be recommended...you can use the "become a friend" link on my profile if you wish, which will reduce the purchase fees for you somewhat.

Ethereum should not be underestimated. It is currently attracting a lot of institutional interest. Ethereum also addresses the topics of RWA, stablecoins and DeFi.
