Sam Bankman-Fried from FTX ($FTT (-2,39 %) ), was sentenced to 25 years years in prison after he defrauded FTX customers of a total of 8 billion
US dollars clients. Bankman-Fried was found guilty of secretly investing FTX client money in a hedge fund that "failed" and resulted in a billion dollar loss for FTX.

@PowerWordChill Studies from Trump University for sure. But he got 25 years because he is privileged. A random African-American would get 50 years for robbery.

In Germany, many people get less than 2 to 5 years for murder and rape..... measured against that, it is a brutal punishment....
@Hockey_Scout Anyone who intentionally kills a person is liable to a custodial sentence of not less than ten years or life imprisonment.

@ad_absurdum Theoretically yes, but the interpretation of the word "intentional" is very borderline in German court proceedings. Just as a knife attack and multiple stabbings in the body are almost only charged as attempted murder in the case of death, otherwise only as assault and that is very lenient! I maintain that this is an extremely harsh verdict compared to German jurisdiction
