I sell?

What do you think, considering that I have a loss of -144.77 € (-13.41%) on $AMD (+0,74 %) , should I get out and try to buy back at a lower price? I just cannot understand how it was possible for the price to go from 227.30 USD to 102 USD in such a short time. The descent was very rapid. I wonder if there is still a chance for recovery in the long run or if the downward trend will continue. On the one hand, it seems to me that there are good long-term opportunities, but on the other hand, I would not want to risk losing again. Is it better to wait or to close and reinvest? 🤔

What was your investment case, buying AMD?
With a position of 930€ invested I would just let it run for the next years. Assuming your investment case still holds true. Timing the market is never a good idea, but repeatedly doing decisions with higher chance than risk (and a lot of patience) is the key to success (imo).
Just a heads up, if the past is any indication of the future, then we could see another downturn to ~90 USD. Would you be able to handle such a temporary loss?
I bought today and I have another 1k to buy when it goes lower, currently sitting on -1000k in losses.
We are in the same boat :)

@Muschel If it reaches 90, I would buy again to lower the overall cost basis
Fair value is estimated today at $80 a share.... In the short term at worst case we could see it drop as low as 70... In the long term it is more than possible that it will recover considering that the forward pe is quite low... It had reached a fairly significant level of overvaluation. The business is less strong than nvidia's but experts say the industry pulls so much that there is room for everyone. That said, only you can make a decision

I'll say my two cents: AMD is going down for several reasons in my opinion. 1. in fact it has given NVIDIA carte blanche on high-end graphic cards, at best they now compete on the 5070, but if we take the 5090 we are at another level. CPU side, on the other hand, they are defending themselves well. 2. NVIDIA is also going down, and I think that being the biggest competitor a role it has in influencing the investors even of AMD. Honestly I am quite optimistic about AMD and NVIDIA in the long run, so I would hold the position.

How many months do you mean by long term?
