$CA (+0,3 %) (Carrefour) to drop $PEP (+3,26 %) (Pepsi) products across their thousand stores across more than 30 countries.

A spokesperson highlighted this as a protest against unacceptable price hikes, marking an unusual public conflict between a grocer and food manufacturer amidst over two years of continual price rises.

What are your thoughts on Pepsi products (Doritos included) being dropped?

I for one am bullish even more for $KO (+2,3 %) 🚀

According to french newspapers, other big french retailers might follow suit, like E.Leclerc and System U

@RaphGM I wonder if this will spill over to other major markets (Asia, South America). I doubt it will happen in North America.

@PhilT It will most probably not spill over.
There is a specific reason why this happens now in France:
Back in October the French national assembly voted to ask the retailers and industrials to move the price negotiations forward to benefit the consumers because the inflation prices are now down.
This due date is the 31st of January 2024.

So I guess PepsiCo and Carrefour (and soon maybe others) are arm wrestling before that date.
