@Investfamily As a party member, I have to say that the sphere of influence at the very top is really limited. The power base in federal politics is very solid, and as a person working in the community you have hardly any influence on it. Candidates in the constituencies were exactly the same as before, so there was hardly any room to question that: Hardly any. At least there is a members' survey, but again I am just one vote out of many. Politics is a marathon and not a short sprint, so you should always stay on the ball.

The people voted for themselves. They knew what they were voting for. How everyone is now acting like they couldn't have guessed.

You should have informed yourself. Just because the CDU used to be conservative doesn't mean that they can't change direction. There were signs and if you had informed yourself on many different platforms and also different media or magazines (if it had been important to you) then you would have known that.
