📊 Broadcom - my model student in the depot

Entered in the April crash - and now already at over +100% performance. That was really rapid.

I had $AVGO (-0,47 %) on my watchlist for ages, but never found the right entry point. It wasn't until the April crash that I had the opportunity - and then I made a one-off investment.

But in the long term, I don't care about the current share price. Because Broadcom convinces me with its advantages:

  • Strong and diversified business model
  • Sustained growth in the tech sector
  • Impressive history of dividend increases 📈

For me, a real flagship share - a model pupil in the portfolio that will stay for the long term.

It's really sick how Broadcom is going!

@jaheu somehow always believed in the stock, even though everyone thought it wouldn't make it and only went for NVIDIA. That was my little hope... I'm now up 145%. I love this stock! ❤️

One of my lucky picks back then with a 3.8 percent dividend yield:D

One of the reasons why Broadcom is doing so well is because, in my opinion, many people have not fully understood Broadcom's business model: Broadcom makes most of its money from ICs, all of which are manufactured far from the current AI bubble. Broadcom manufactures ICs for storage controllers, network cards and basic components and has now acquired VMware, which it has now cannibalized and will ride to death until alternatives such as Nutanix materialize or some other competitor seizes the opportunity.

And factor two: many employees only put up with the toxic climate at Broadcom (I was an employee at VMware) because people are baited with shares on a quarterly basis. Which also explains the continuous pushes.

So: watch out! Hock Tan is now of an age compatible with Donald Trump, so when he passes away at some point, I expect a pretty big dent, because many employees will then cash out. Likewise, if another wave of layoffs rolls through Broadcom.

In the meantime, I don't begrudge you your success: treat yourself! I also held my few Broadcom shares for a long time. And be sure to back up your successes.
