@MoKi28 Note: In some (few) states, you can 'swap' your German driver's license for an American one (without having to surrender your German one). It worked for me in the Midwest back then. You can also use an international driver's license (apply for one here in Germany), but this is useless because the insurance premium for your own vehicle is then extremely high.
@MoKi28 Note2: The very first thing you must do (if not already organized by your employer) is to apply for an American Social Security number. Without it, you are not a human being there. You won't get an account and will have problems registering or signing contracts everywhere else.
