PayPal Q3: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 💸

The numbers are in—and they aren't really convincing $PYPL (-1,24 %) for now

📊 Key figures:

  • Revenue: $8.58 billion—compared to an expected $8.71 billion
  • Earnings per share (non-GAAP): $1.45 instead of the expected $1.35.
  • Transaction margin: $3.95 billion – better than expected.
  • Outlook: For the full year, PayPal is raising its earnings forecast to around $5.60 per share.

In summary: Earnings better than expected, revenue worse than expected. That should be enough for a -10% drop today...😉

A quick note: In Q3, 28 million shares were repurchased—and 117 million shares over the past 12 months. Currently, there are still 858 million shares outstanding. If they keep up this pace, then we (that is, those of us who don’t sell our shares) will become major shareholders—and thus billionaires—within the next 5 years... 😅

@Part_Time_Joe Don't be so pessimistic about the -10% here 😂 As of October 21, 2026, there are still just under 830 million outstanding 🤭

@Manuelito But the 830 million isn't the diluted figure... 😉
