If you ever find yourself bored, feel free to post and explain how you find these kinds of technical entry points. Do you use a stock screener? What tools do you use? How did you learn all this? I find swing trading really exciting and would love to learn more about it. For example, I watch the YouTube channel “10x Trading”—do you know it? Do you watch stuff like that, too? I think your posts here—and especially your comments on other people’s posts—offer real value :) Thanks!

@Sebbster Thank you so much for your kind feedback.

I think I mentioned something about this in a comment on a post somewhere. When it comes to stocks, I usually don’t use a screener—I just stumble across a stock and then quickly open the chart on TradingView. I have the basic subscription there (~$40/year). I display the VRPR and RSI indicators and then look at the different time frames (daily, weekly, monthly).

I came across this particular stock, for example, on the @wirliebenaktien Instagram account, where a user had asked if they could roast “his money-burning machine” 😁

Another source I came across—for example, on $PODD —is ceowatcher.com. They track insider purchases and rank them based on specific criteria.

If I like a setup from a technical perspective, I’ll do a quick Google search or use AI to see what caused the sharp sell-off. If there’s nothing fundamentally “wrong” with the stock—just a few themes and a rerating—then that’s usually already priced in. Sure, that can go wrong sometimes—that’s what stop-losses are for.
But I’ve learned for myself that stocks just go up and down, and when they’re going up, everyone gets euphoric and comes up with all sorts of reasons why they’ll keep climbing even higher. Conversely, there are plenty of reasons why a stock gets written off when it’s performing poorly. But if the company is fundamentally sound, then every downtrend eventually comes to an end. And I usually try to determine that from a technical perspective. I find setups like this exciting—stocks that have been heavily sold off but are then technically oversold and are in a strong support zone.

I also follow an Instagram account called “overkilltrading,” which has built a tool using various indicators to help identify entry and exit points for swing trades. He also has a good Discord server.

I’d be happy to tell you more if you’re on IG—I’m @jkobsmn there :)

@jkb92 Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the feedback :) I'll take a look at everything. Unfortunately, I don't have Instagram. What else is at the top of your watch list right now?
