A multi-year crash would be the best thing that could happen to me. I'm relatively young; I don't plan on selling for another 20 to 30 years anyway.

@Mo28 Correct. Then start thinking about a strategy for finding the best deals at the bottom. In any case, simply buying the old high-fliers that have fallen particularly far wasn't the best strategy.

When I’m back in Germany, I’ll take a closer look at your Momentum strategy. I’ve been following it for a while now and find the approach really interesting. By then, there’ll already be a bit of a track record :)

But basically, I’m a B&H guy anyway, so I should be able to handle it just fine.

@Mo28 Momentum is certainly a good strategy. But there are others as well—and they can be quite successful. See, for example, $BRK.B. The important thing is simply to have a strategy in place that makes decisions for you when the pressure is on.

@Epi You're absolutely right. Right now, my strategy has been thrown a bit off track since I’ve been living in the U.S. for a few years. But basically, my strategy is to invest in ETFs in a pretty straightforward way. I don’t make 100% per year that way, but with my savings rate, I don’t need to :)

@Mo28 Your "silly" strategy is likely to outperform 90% of all retail investors. And why would you want to change a system that works? ;-)

@Epi Yes, I think you're right! :)
