You should always keep an eye on today and enjoy it. I also don't think that this can't go hand in hand with sensible capital accumulation for the future/pension.
I make provisions and still buy a new car that I enjoy or go on vacation several times a year.
For me, however, active vacations involve hiking. Next trip will be a few days to Oberstdorf to visit friends I've made there, then on to Merano to get to know it and then Ulm on the way back 😉.
