Moving from DEGIRO to IBKR

DEGIRO is too expensive for trading in USD. Just this transaction was 13 euro incl FX. Plus I like to keep dividend in USD and on the same account with other USD div stocks to directly reinvest or trade more regular for just 0.35$. I will buy back $VICI and bet on usd/eur recovering on the longer term.

Did the same a couple of months ago, quite happy with IBKR so far. Only thing I dislike is how hard it is to find the transaction costs after making a trade

@livkasmile Unless I'm missing something, you can only see the conversion rate , not the costs (i.e. the fraction IBKR takes).

@Nova_portfolio on the web interface Reporting->transaction history as a separate line. But I have a family account, maybe the interface is different.

I've been experimenting with IBKR for a few months now. I dislike the user interface to the one from DEGIRO. But costs are lower and dividends are not converted to euros but stay in USD. So they can be used to buy more USD stock. That I like a lot.

IBKR not bad when you get used to it, not the most intuitive though. Degiro does overcharge, even XTB too (hidden fees). My smaller trades are all on T212 at the moment, works very well and low fees.

Since I still invest quite small amounts, DEGIRO or BUX have to high cost. Now I use only IBKR, and maybe someday I will try Trading212.
I don't recommend even trying TradeRepublic, I had quite a bad experience with them.

Does IBKR let you hold and withdraw other currencies (eg. USD)? Also how was the moving process?
