Why I am investing in a Spanish glass (bottle) manufacturer ($VID (-0,67 %) ).

  • Established company
  • Solid growth
  • Even more undervalued after weak quarterly figures from the market
  • is currently developing the Brazilian market and leaving the Italian market (hence the weak figures), but in my opinion Brazil offers significantly more potential in the long term.

Specific reasons for my portfolio:

Diversification in the South American market and Southern Europe.

@Memo0606 Yes, high margin, not too high dividend payout ratio, solid ROE and, in my opinion, sensible investments in the future for a P/E ratio of 14

@Shrimpman lands on my watchlist

@Shrimpman after the small correction also worth buying for me at €90

Why are they out of Italy and why Brazil of all places, how is this expansion supposed to take place and what will it cost again...
image de profil
@AlterMann Brazil has significantly higher margins (approx. 20% more)

@AlterMann Out of Italy because, apart from spirits, most manufacturers are switching to PET.
More efficient across the board

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur So they've lost everything and are clinging on to Brazil. If that had been a real alternative earlier, they would have done it sooner, wouldn't they?
image de profil
@AlterMann I would say yes. I still keep in touch with old colleagues from the industry and PET is still going like hotcakes.
image de profil
@Der_Dividenden_Monteur I suspect they are trying to salvage something that is perhaps no longer salvageable.

@AlterMann You can see it however you like, but I don't think gas bottles will simply disappear because they don't have the microplastic problem of PET bottles. The figures also show that the expansion into Brazil is working.
