Rocket Lab share: Rocket launch to all-time high!

attachment

The share price of the aerospace company $RKLB (-0,23 %) is shooting to a new record high today - driven by a surprising analyst upgrade and growing euphoria surrounding the Neutron rocket program. But can the hype last in view of the already sharply increased valuation?

Citigroup fires up price target to 50 dollars

The latest boost is no coincidence: the investment bank Citigroup has raised its price target for the share from 33 to 50 dollars - one of the most bullish forecasts on Wall Street. The bank cites significantly higher revenue expectations until 2029 as the reason, driven by booming demand for commercial satellite launches and defense contracts.

The markets immediately rewarded the realignment. With a gain of over 10% today and almost 70% since the beginning of the year, Rocket Lab is one of the top performers in the aerospace sector. However, the valuation is ambitious: The company is trading at 34 times expected annual sales - a premium that would only be justified by the fulfillment of high growth expectations.

Sollten Anleger sofort verkaufen? Oder lohnt sich doch der Einstieg bei Rocket Lab USA?

Neutron rocket as a game changer?

However, the real driver of investor euphoria lies in the future: the first mission of the new Neutron rocket is scheduled for the second half of 2025. If the launch is successful, Rocket Lab could join the league of major space companies and land lucrative government contracts - including possible missions for the US National Security Space Launch Program.

The recent partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) also underlines the company's growing standing. But the crucial question remains: Can Rocket Lab meet the high expectations - or is it in danger of crashing after the rocket launch?

Nice of you to share some good news in the early morning. It just won't stop rising. 🤣
I wonder how much longer this will go on. No share can go up like this forever. There has to be a correction.
If there wasn't a tax on capital gains in Germany, I would think about selling a small portion. But I won't do anything and will hold on until Neutron has been successfully tested at the end of the year.

@Shiya How high do you think the probability is that the neutron test will not be successful?
image de profil
@Shiya be glad that I'm not getting into the share, then it would go straight down.

@wasi I think Rocket Lab is a company that works accurately and doesn't take risks. Neutron has already been postponed a few times. The CEO has been tinkering with rockets since his youth, it's his passion. The Electron rockets have been sent into space almost 70 times and there have only been about 5-6 failed launches. So a strong record.
I assume that everything will go smoothly. Of course I hope so too. Even if there is a failure, they will test Neutron successfully sooner or later and when the orders come in (there is already an order for Neutron), the company will be in the green and make a profit.

@Fl_ow Haha 😂

@Shiya There could be a false start, but that wouldn't be so bad in itself. Investors would only be shocked in the short term, but then it would continue. The rocket itself costs nothing.

@Shiya I have sold a little again and shifted into other growth stocks, but only so little that the taxes don't break my heart. I actually wanted to gradually reduce Rocket Lab's share in the portfolio by increasing the other positions, but Rocket Lab is a bad loser.

@PikaPika0105 Let's hope not. I think the share price will certainly fall 20-30% if Neutron explodes. 😂

Would you aim for a small sale I'm really thinking about it 🤔
image de profil
@PikaPika0105 May I ask approximately how much of your Rklb share you have sold in %?
I'm not sure... The price has risen too sharply and a correction must come soon. But I don't want to sell.
image de profil
@Semos25 Yes, of course, you can always take a chance. With the potential and the high volatility of the share, it hardly matters when you get in. Even small setbacks or larger dips won't fundamentally change the direction 🚀. I myself only got in at EUR 28 and bought again at EUR 33. I am now adding an SL at -15%. So, the world belongs to the brave...........😎

When it comes to the valuation of Rocket Lab, I like to draw comparisons with SpaceX, which is not listed on the stock exchange but is valued at around 250 billion dollars. Rocket Lab is now worth around 19 billion, so even if they remain smaller than Space X, I can actually still see a teenbagger here by 2030. Then we're at just under 200 billion capitalization. Space X will probably be at 300-350bn by then. The whole thing is an interesting topic for the future, but for me personally it is still overshadowed by AI and robotics, hence the still "humane" valuations. If you look at D Wave, for example, which is valued at 5 billion without having anything in its hands... Just imagine if they already had something close to a quantum computer, they would probably already be worth 50 billion. rocket lab is already much further ahead

@Hotte1909 the next time it cools down, it goes into the depot

@Hotte1909 However, SpaceX's valuation is already at €400 billion :) https://www.mitrade.com/insights/news/live-news/article-0-963557-20250716

@Klassi au. Last time I looked for it was around February 😀 then fire away 😉

@Hotte1909 Of course, you have to bear in mind that 2/3 or more of the valuation falls on Starlink. They are already making 15 billion in sales with it. I can't wait to see what rocket Lab is planning!
image de profil
@Klassi absolutely correct. And to be honest, we don't need another Starlink in this world. But they'll come up with something. After all, there are other projects. Rocket Lab isn't just about Neutron. There's so much more that already works, like Rutherford or the associated Electron, which NASA uses to send satellites to the moon and they also produce satellite parts themselves

@Hotte1909 What is going on with the shares is no longer normal? Or
image de profil
@Semos25 There have always been phases like this. But at the moment, almost all indices are close to ath and this is during the actual summer break. Normally, we tend to reach these highs towards December/January. The mood can of course change quickly. On the other hand, $VWRL, for example, is still slightly down for the year. However, we only reached the ATH at the end of January. Normally, a correction should come at some point, similar to the corona crash. However, the cycles are also adapting quite a bit at the moment. Whereas we used to have a crash every 20 years, this millennium alone has already seen 4 crashes. If we now take away the bursting of the dotcom bubble because the financial bubble burst during the recovery, the indices recover on average after around 2 years. This cycle is actually far too short. On the other hand, there are also figures behind the companies that are not comparable with back then. Oh, I'm digressing again 😀

@Hotte1909 🤣🤣🤣 A summary would also have sufficed 😂😂
image de profil
@Semos25 I realized it myself when I was writing, but then I thought to myself: I'm not going to discard this intellectual rubbish now
1
image de profil
@Hotte1909 😂😂😂😂😂
image de profil
In addition, the Neutron missile will also serve as an intercontinental transport missile for the US military to send equipment around the world. At least that's what I once read. That would of course be another big deal.
1
image de profil
@Hotte1909 You read that right, but I don't think it will be the first focus. They will have a large backlog of launches when everything is ready
image de profil
@Klassi nene but that favors another segment which leads to higher capacity utilization and more profit. So I am still bullish.
1
image de profil
@Hotte1909 Hey, do you have a price target at which you want to take some profits?
image de profil
@TechNav phew no. Am now up 140%. But I still see massive potential here. That's why we'll continue to hold for now
1
image de profil
@Hotte1909 of course I'm bullish too, plan not to touch my shares until 2030
image de profil
The moment when the entry price of €25 was too much for you 🥲

@Aktienorang-Utan You can buy a small tranche now, earnings are in August and Neutron will be tested at the end of the year. Maybe buy a 2nd tranche before Neutron is tested.
1
image de profil
@Aktienorang-Utan I think so too. Had thought about it at 19€... well, it was a shame 😂
3
image de profil
@paul_finesse_ but you have $PLTR
1
image de profil
@Aktienorang-Utan I bought more at 26 euros. I should have bought more then 🤦‍♀️
1
image de profil
@Aktienorang-Utan that's why i bought from 24 haha
1
image de profil
@Semos25that's right 👀
image de profil
@paul_finesse_ Same for me 🫠
image de profil
@Aktienorang-Utan question for general how do you guys find out about it when it was 24 or less
If you have a problem with your own opinions, then so be it. This is all just empty talk!!!
