$BHP (-1,31 %) with weaker earnings.

Dividend reduced by 40% to lowered to $0.90

Unfortunately, this was to be expected given the prices for raw materials.

Who can read is clearly at an advantage. I search under BP whole time because of cut, find only one increase, which was just announced on 07.02.23 and wonder that the cut was to be expected, as you write, it is about BHP Group and not BP 😵‍💫. Not that I'm invested in one 🤪 Rio Tinto I think will also be cut this year, but is not uncommon with commodity companies, I continue to build the shares. I see it more like this: if they can pay more, they do. The amount of the dividend payout is strongly linked to the economic cycle. I don't want such strongly fluctuating dividend payouts with all my stocks, but with Rio Tinto I consciously accept that.

@CashDividendGamer One level higher would be the freight stocks such as Maersk. With these stocks, just as with commodities, you have to buy when the economy is "bad" and not when everything is humming.

Does it make sense to sell a few shares now in order to buy more again later?

@zapplo difficult to say. i would not assume a price slump, as it was actually to be expected. commodity prices are well known

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur I don't think that's good either.

I have Rio Tinto and BHP in my portfolio. I will increase my holdings if the price improves.

Have a nice Easter Sunday! What do you currently think of $BHP?
I currently have $GLEN in my portfolio, but would like to add other miners such as BHP. How do you currently see an entry?
$RIO Would it be an alternative...

@TomTurboInvest I've also had $BHP in my portfolio since 2022 and am actually very happy with it, but it is very dependent on the Chinese economy as it is the largest ore consumer.
Price gains are marginal, as we are currently at a cyclical low again.

What else I can recommend in the direction of copper and iron ore would be $GMEXICOB
I also wrote an article about them once. However, they are currently valued relatively expensively in my opinion.
Here my renewed EK would be ~€4

Happy Easter to you too 🤝

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur Thanks for your reply. Well, the cyclical low is tempting me 😅 hence my consideration of getting in. By the time everyone wants to get in, some of the performance will be gone again. And with China, it could possibly be something over the next few months🧐
