Takeover plans by the subsidiary and SpaceX's ambitions are holding Telekom back

The $DTE (-0,12 %) is taking a massive hit after weeks of speculation about a merger with its U.S. subsidiary, compounded now by takeover speculation $SPCX (+1,29 %) have surfaced.

Since key support at €26 couldn’t be held, the price could now plummet to €23. I’ll wait and see for now, but then possibly buy more at the bottom if necessary. I don’t believe the takeover will happen, but I now see the merger as much more realistic than I did a few weeks ago.

Deutsche Telekom has been among the underperformers in recent weeks.
Since the end of February, the stock has lost more than 20% of its value, despite recently revised upward earnings estimates.
Consequently, the valuation is attractive.
Furthermore, the stock is currently trading at a technical support level, where it stabilized in recent weeks.

Looking at the headline, I'm wondering how you can take over a company in which another company already holds a majority stake. That just doesn't work, dear editors at Börse-online.

@Dividenden-Sammler The answer is money. For Mr. M, that's always the case anyway.

@Keineui Then it would have to buy out shares from $DTE, and that can only be done with their consent. So there’s no question of “stealing” here, and I doubt that $DTE would do that—especially since it wants to fully integrate $TMUS itself.

@Dividenden-Sammler Who wrote something about stealing?

@Keineui????
Why don't you read the headline of the article you linked to?

@Dividenden-Sammler Fair point. I see it the same way you do. At first I thought I'd come up with something like that…

The floor is coming!

@Keineui The only question now is where the floor is

At 20–22 euros, that could get pretty interesting 🤔

@Stocktective I wouldn't rule it out entirely, but I think it's rather unlikely that it will go that low. Today, we have the 200-week moving average and an RSI that has often triggered an upward reversal.

@jkb92 Oh well, at least that way I don't have to think about whether to buy in 🤣 I didn't even check what would be realistic—just at what point it might be a good fit for my portfolio 😬

@Stocktective I'm hoping—completely selflessly—that you won't have to get on board 😁

If you have satellite internet on your smartphone, you no longer need cell towers—it's that simple. Telekom to the Earth's core.

@Asgard19 That will be the key issue: whether it can scale quickly enough to be offered at a lower price than regular mobile carriers.

@fund_navigator_elshq Satellite does not scale to such user numbers.
