Milestone: €200,000 - October 2026

I had actually planned to post this at the end of the year, and even though it’s just a snapshot, I hit the 200,000€ mark in stock assets today.

The much-touted power of compound interest has felt like a slow process over time, yet I was able to add the second 100,000€ to my portfolio in less than two years. So it really has worked, even though it didn’t feel that way to me.

I’m still very proud of the result and the momentum building, even if to some it’s still a relatively small portfolio. When I was 20, I could never have imagined having such an amount at my disposal by the time I was 33. As I described in my €100,000 post, the paths couldn’t be more different. For my part, I started with €0 and don’t expect to inherit anything either.

With that in mind, I wish you all continued success, good luck, and perseverance. Here’s to the next €100,000—and on to €300,000!

@alieb Not Really haha

Congratulations. Looking at the return, it wasn't so much due to compound interest as it was to the deposits. But whatever—the main thing is to keep growing steadily 💪🏼

@dividend_dynamo_wtbrk Thanks! When I check it out, just under a third of my investments are generating a return. It's not exactly mind-blowing, but I think it's okay for my investment strategy. I've never been the type to want a lot, fast—and that's carried over into my investing too 😃

@TaubeSmash That's also the best approach. In the end, 99% of long-term investors don't manage to beat the market through stock picking anyway.

I started my industrial engineering degree myself 5 days ago, and to be honest, I'm really nervous.
Do you have any tips for college?
What career path did you pursue after getting your bachelor's degree?

@Fred999 First of all, congratulations on getting into college. This is one of the most important times in your entire college career. Try to network as much as you can. The term is so overused, but despite that, it’s incredibly important. I wouldn’t have made it through my studies on my own, so find a study partner or join a study group—whichever works best for you. Also, try not to just memorize things; you need to understand them. If you rely solely on memorization, you’ll eventually burn out. Understanding takes longer, but it’s more sustainable :)

After my bachelor’s, I did my master’s, but I also had a well-paying engineering job at Siemens in project management.

After my master’s, I joined the global procurement team as a lead buyer, and now I lead a global procurement team from Zurich.

@Michaelangelo Thanks 💯 When you watch finance YouTube channels, you really start to think you've made it once you hit 100k 😃🥲

@TaubeSmash Yeah, seriously, when you see things go up and then come back down, once you get through that, it's no big deal anymore 😅🤣

True to the saying, on the stock market, 2 + 2 is never 4, but always 5 - 1 🥲😅

@BavarianLion Thank you so much 🤩 If I'm honest, going from 100k to 200k was actually easier—it always depends on your expectations 🚀

@TaubeSmash It took me a little over 6 months to go from 500k to 600k (but it was a bull market, and I made some good investments in March 😉)! Now, without any major investments (just my savings plans), I’m at 650k! It just feels great—I wish you all the best on your journey in the stock market 📈 🚀

Great comment—it gives a little insight into your career path. Did you finish your degree? Are you working as an industrial engineer in a salaried position?
