PayPal ($PYPL (+3 %)) - Shares of online payment processor PayPal slumped double digits in after-hours trading yesterday as the company's financial results disappointed. Earnings per share were $1.11 while analysts had expected $1.12. Additionally, revenue growth was only 13% compared to 20% last year. PayPal fell 16.5% as a result.
Alphabet ($GOOG (-0,66 %)) - Google's parent company delivered stellar financial results yesterday and announced a 1-for-20 stock split. Alphabet was able to significantly beat analyst estimates of revenue and earnings. Earnings per share, came in at $30.69 versus the expected $27.34. The stock split of 1:20 is to be completed this July.

A cryptocurrency specifically for LGBT people is to be launched in Spain. Maricoin is scheduled to start trading on February 22. The name of the cryptocurrency alone is causing discussion: Maricoin is borrowed from the Spanish word "maricon," which translates to "faggot" in German. As of February 22, Maricoin is to be tradable on the major cryptocurrency platforms. From the side of co-founder Juan Belmonte, " "We can give microloans to help people open a small LGBTI-friendly café in Colombia or support projects that help queer refugees flee countries where they are stoned to death"
