Shares: Analysis - Valuation - Key figures

Hello folks,

unfortunately I'm not very familiar with the valuation of shares, which key figures are important, what should you pay attention to, why is it a good or bad share?

For example, I have a lot of questions about the stock (Tenable Holdings | US88025T1025) $TENB (-0,33 %)

I refer to two sources for the key figures:

https://aktienfinder.net/aktien-profil/Tenable%20Holdings-Aktie

and

https://de.tradingview.com/symbols/GETTEX-TE7/financials-overview/

If you go to Tradingview under Financials > Overview, you can see that the enterprise value is 4.56B$, debt is only 384.72M$, so a small part.

However, under Financial data > Statements you can always see a negative net income from Q4'22 to Q2'24, which is actually bad, isn't it? Things are probably not running smoothly yet.

In the forecast, however, the share is strongly advised to buy, the outlook is also consistently positive, as you can see, max. 32.65% compared to -6.91% is almost already a reason to buy.

At Aktienfinder.net, the earnings stability is also very positive across the board, as is the forecast - how can the data from above be correct if they always have negative net income?

Similarly, earnings growth of 10/10 is expected, i.e. a good share price in the future, but further down there is a warning about the balance sheet profit of 0.06, which is very negative.

What do you do with this share now? Both portals are absolutely positive about the share, but somehow I only see negative net income, and the financial data show mixed profitability.

If I now look at (Vertiv Holdings | US92537N1081) $VRT (+2,61 %) on both sides, then this would be more of a reason to buy, except that it is now overvalued, i.e. it has already run very strongly. However, the net income here is consistently positive in the financial data > statements.

Can you give me some insight into what I should be looking at? I'm a bit confused.

Thanks a lot!

I wouldn't rely on the analyses and assessments of others, especially at the beginning. A first start:

N. Schmidlin: Company valuation and key figure analysis.

I suggest you take a look at the last analysis I did in my profile. I know your situation very well because I was there too. I used a lot of key figures, which you also need to research. My advice is not to buy stocks with a low market capitalization. This is very dangerous for beginners. First of all, only look for something from the big names. That is much safer and if you are fit then you can perhaps look for something new, otherwise buy etf and forget it.

Always depends on the share, difficult to explain. I haven't read up on it now, but in this case you just estimate that you will continue to grow. Maybe you are only negative because you want to continue to grow, but you have to look at how the S&G are and how the operating margins are.

As far as I have seen, they are slowly becoming profitable here. Profit, free cash flow and margins can be increased. As a result, the P/E ratio is falling.
The analysts are just looking to the future.
The company is also seen as a takeover candidate.
