What do you think of the $EIMI (+2,23 %) ETF ?

I think the future belongs to the BRICS countries and there is a lot of growth potential in these countries.

Do you have the MSCI Emerging Markets ETF in your portfolio and what do you think of the BRICS 🙋‍♂️💪✌️

If the future belongs to South Africa, then good night.

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur Well, you would wish the people there better living conditions, wouldn't you?

@randomdude of course.
But as long as one corrupt government after another is in power...

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur The fate of most BRICS states. There will be no equal and democratic distribution of power and wealth in the BRICS for the foreseeable future. The West is at least making an effort to achieve this, but that's why the BRICS are so against the West... 😅

EMs are attractively valued after years of underperformance.
But why do you think the future belongs to the BRICS?

@Investbytest You're really buying into the narratives of the new would-be hegemons like Xi or Putin. Of the BRICS, at least R and C have a massive demographic problem. The corruption and legal uncertainty in most BRICS states is massive and systematically deliberate. And finally, the demand for a multipolar world order means nothing other than the demand for the end of the international legal and economic order. The fact that the BRICS are united by nothing other than a rejection of universalism and a return to national egoism can be seen at the BRICS summit.
In other words: the West may be consumed by prosperity, but the BRICS are historically and systematically standing in their own way of capitalizing on it. Just my opinion.

(I am currently invested in EM myself with 3x leverage).

@Investbytest "attractive social models"? 🥳 You've obviously NEVER been to China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia... Or are you a fundamental rights masochist?

Does the future belong to BRICS? 🥸 So why do so many people from the BRICS countries want to emigrate to Western countries and almost no one wants to immigrate there (with the exception of the UAE)?

invested, but not overweight. The Yank (+ West) will not simply be replaced like this

About the ETF:
For me, $EIMI is far too China/Taiwan-heavy. According to ishares, together they account for 44.29%. With the aggressive policy of the Chinese government, the risk is too high for me.

The only EM countries that interest me (Mexico, Indonesia) are simply extremely underweighted in the ETF.

Can anyone explain to me why South Africa is weighted higher than Mexico?

On BRICS:

Russia:
War of aggression + economic suicide
China:
Increasingly nationalistic, repressive, demographically questionable.
India:
Currently doing quite well. But still has a lot to do to combat poverty
Brazil:
As always dependent on raw materials, little else going on.
South Africa:
Many companies would actually like to leave the country (e.g. BMW, Mercedes) but shy away from it for political reasons.
Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, UAE....

There is often talk about the potential of EM and BRICS. For various reasons, there is hardly any lifting.
