According to 3 sources from Reuters ($TRI ), Tesla has canceled the long-announced cars to promote growth of the company. The decision was reportedly announced in late February at a meeting with numerous employees.

One of the 3 sources confirmed the cancellation and said that new plans include robotaxis in much smaller quantities than originally planned for the Model 2 planned.

Elon Musk, however, said of that Reuters message just now: "Reuters is lying."

$GM has just scrapped its robotaxi project Cruise with huge losses. But super-promiser Musk is now coming around the corner and announcing it for $TSLA. He has been chasing his FSD promise for almost a decade. And even really smart, tech-savvy people are defending this FSD vision mantra-like. And it's not coming and it's not coming. 🤷Tesla is a religion. Why is Musk stamping out Model 2? He doesn't see any chance against the Chinese competition, won't get it on the road quickly enough and, above all, won't generate a decent margin with it. Ford CEO Jim Farley predicted last year that Tesla would have problems with "product freshness". And that is slowly but surely happening. The Semi is an air number, the Cybertruck a niche product. As a satisfied Model Y driver, I would rather short the stock at the moment. I'm just not part of the religion.
