I'm a bit confused: Why should Chrome and Android be worthless if you look at them individually? If you can collect data and place ads via them, you have a business model. That would mean that Meta would also be worthless.

•@Stryke What does that have to do with Meta? Well, anyone can collect data in the browser, regardless of whether it's Opera, for example. This only becomes interesting through Google Ad Sense and tracking.

@Soprano Facebook, Insta and WhatsApp also mainly collect data and place advertisements. Very few people buy anything.
Of course, others can do that too. But Chrome is already implemented and will continue to be used. Just because Chrome is no longer 100% owned by Alphabet doesn't mean that people and companies will switch.

@Stryke I could imagine that Chrome, separated from the Google (data) network, loses quality - personalized search results etc...
