I would like to reduce the US share in my portfolio a little, as both the geopolitical and domestic political risks are currently too great for me to hold more than 60% of my assets in US equities with a clear conscience.

The fact that a little over €20,000 will be coming in to invest over the next two months gives me a great opportunity to do this.

I am young and would like to get non-US quality stocks into my portfolio and leave them there for several decades.

My current favorites for a first purchase:

$NESN (-0,05 %)

$OR (+1,52 %)

$MELI (+2,88 %)

$ALV (+0,29 %)

$AI (+0,56 %)

$CPR (-0,48 %)

$AFX (+1,74 %)

What are your views on reducing US weight and what would you consider non-US stocks that belong in a buy & hold portfolio.

I am looking forward to your opinions!

I continue to have confidence in US equities and have increased my stake from 65% to 85% over the past few months

I see geopolitical risks more in Europe 😂

I also think $6367 is well positioned in Japan and already have it in my portfolio. However, I can well imagine adding an Itochu to my portfolio, for example holen👍🏻

What would interest me: what geopolitical issues are you referring to?

Major setbacks have actually always been: A) economic crises (or expected ones, such as a pandemic) or B) strong overvaluations.

Elections or wars (Vietnam, 2 Gulf Wars, Iraq War, etc.) have never had a long-term impact on share prices.

I currently see overvaluations in individual companies in the S&P 500, but by no means in all of them. There are still some stocks (especially value stocks) that are fairly or favorably valued. By geopolitical risks, I don't necessarily mean that I fear a war will break out soon. Rather, I am increasingly coming to the conclusion that the USA will not be able to maintain its status as the world's biggest power and will also lose international influence. Companies such as McDonald's, Apple or Coca Cola, whose products can be found practically everywhere in the world, may lose their appeal. That's more my fear.

$AI only if you set up a custody account there directly or your bank registers you in this way, otherwise you will miss out on the loyalty bonus after two years and pay the French social security contributions.
