Alaska Airlines ($ALK (-1,15 %) ) will be temporarily removing dozens of its Boeing 737 MAX jets out of service because part of a new plane broke off in flight, according to Bloomberg.

This forced the aircraft with over 170 passengers to make an emergency landing in Portland.
