Airbus up by up to 4.3% today.
The news agency Reuters has reported that the engine manufacturer CFM now wants to hand over to Airbus the engines actually produced for its maintenance segment. The detour of some engines, on which the delivery of many otherwise already completed aircraft depends, could close an important supply gap. CFM is a joint venture between the two technology groups GE Aerospace and the French company Safran.
"This should exceed Airbus' target of 700 (Addition from me: I am sure it means 770) aircraft delivered in 2024," wrote analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu from US bank Jefferies. At the end of October, Airbus had 559 deliveries. For the last two months of this year, this would mean 211 deliveries, or around 105 per month. That would be almost twice as many as the average for the last ten months of the year.
The expert recalled that Airbus had already lowered its annual target from 800 to 770 aircraft in June.
