Nestlé's problems go deeper than feared.

For all my loved ones who were so euphoric after the CEO change.

An interesting analysis. $NESN (-0,55 %)

Geographically, the sales losses in the most important market, North America, are striking. Nestlé is paying the toll for the price increases. The fact that more and more people in the USA are turning to weight-loss injections is likely to have an even greater impact on the ready-made pizza business in the future. The protein and vegan products promoted by Nestlé will not be able to make up for this. Here too, however, the consumer world is not black and white: the confectionery division is showing robust growth. Even those who are on Ozempic apparently treat themselves to a Kitkat bar now and again.

Why does the ready-made pizza business suffer when Americans resort to weight loss injections? Are they losing their appetite?

@impuff Yes exactly, that is also an effect, the desire to eat is also curbed as there are no such extreme insulin peaks...

@impuff I had the same question.

I would assume that if someone takes the easy way out (injecting instead of eating less), this makes the business with unhealthy and high-calorie food better rather than worse.

Or does it have serious consequences if you are on weight loss injections and eat ready-made pizza? (I don't think anything less than an immediate heart attack has much effect - I hardly know anyone who follows medical "recommendations" if they run counter to their lifestyle - hell, I still smoke...)

Don't understand the charm of Nestle - they are a dominant player but are growing far too slowly in terms of sales and cash flow. It will not become a compounder... So it's only because of the dividend and the operational development is crawling along?
