$AMZN (-0,78 %) How do you think Trump's tariff policy towards China could affect Amazon shares?

Trump has repeatedly spoken of tariffs on Chinese imports as a means of boosting domestic production.

What do you think: Will higher prices due to tariffs hit the share price hard?

I wonder what China has to do with Amazon?

If Chinese low-cost companies like Temu are subject to higher customs duties, that would be great for Amazon

@AktienAmateur069 No, because Amazon buys from the same wholesalers as Temu, so it would also have to pay more money on duty-paid products, which is passed on to customers.

It is not the exporter who pays the duty, but the importer.

That really is nonsense. Amazon doesn't mainly make a profit by selling Chinese key fobs. The company has long been much more dependent on revenue from services, AI and the cloud.

I think amzn copes well with this. Why? Because Amazon may also have to adjust its prices compared to other "online stores" that also import from China. Amazon is still one of the cheapest providers here. I will only go into AMZN after the 2008 er 2025 crash Q1. If at all.
