Unfortunately, I can't say anything about Samsung, but as far as batteries are concerned, I am hopeful about Enovix $ENVX.
They have just set up a plant in Malaysia and are ramping up production. They offer a promising technology with silicon anodes that allow a higher storage density, a battery design that protects against swelling and flammability and the batteries can be charged in just a few minutes. Initial agreements have already been reached with renamed customers.
Unfortunately, there is no mention of cars yet, only of small devices such as smartphones/watches and laptops.

If it works out, I see this as the "gold standard" in small-scale battery technology in the coming years.

@teschi Thanks for your contribution! Enovix is a very interesting company as they are working on improved energy density. They are a growth stock and therefore to be enjoyed with some risk (especially as I don't think they have gained a foothold in the automotive sector yet?) Samsung SDI is already working with BMW and Audi, so I saw them as more "established" than the young competition. Still, very interesting!
