In line with the news from the USA, Telekom is $DTE (+0,17 %) is also introducing a new communications solution for police, fire and rescue services in Germany. In future, they will always be given priority in the network - based on Mission Critical X (MCX) broadband services from Motorola Solutions $MSI (-0,81 %) and modern technologies such as network slicing.
MCX stands for "Mission-Critical Services" and enables the rapid exchange of voice, data and video in real time. This makes the network not only secure, but also particularly reliable. This means that emergency services can talk to each other and share information at any time.
Thanks to MCX, 5G and LTE devices as well as smartphones can be seamlessly connected to existing Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) radios. This ensures that everyone involved can be reached and that information flows smoothly.
》Emergency services get rescue lane in mobile communications《
Network slicing technology reserves dedicated capacities in the radio network for the police and fire department - comparable to a rescue lane on the highway. Even if many people are on the phone at the same time in an emergency, communication between the emergency services remains stable. This solution was tested with the German Federal Police and presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2024. It is now in use and proved its worth during the European Football Championship, among other events.
》Partner for radio and drone detection《
Deutsche Telekom has been a digitalization partner to the police and fire departments for years, both nationally and internationally. The company already supports federal, state and local authorities with the TETRA radio system. Around 150,000 police officers use Telekom solutions, including command and control systems. In the future, Thuringia, for example, will receive a new command and control system from T-Systems. The Group is also involved in the detection of drones.
