The BYD Yangwang U9 super sports car races its laps day and night.

Chinese company BYD has released footage showing its Yangwang U9 super sports car driving autonomous laps on the Hunan Zhuzhou International Circuit using the company's new God's Eye A driver assistance system. The demonstration included autonomous lap runs during the day and at night.

The God's Eye ADAS platform was divided into three different tiers offering different performance levels and hardware configurations. The top level God's Eye A, also marketed as Dipilot 600, has a computing power of 600 tops and supports up to three lidar units to scan the environment.

The mid-range God's Eye B (Dipilot 300) operates with a computing power of 300 tops and has a single lidar unit. The entry-level God's Eye C (DiPilot 100) relies mainly on camera-based solutions as well as millimeter wave and ultrasonic radars and offers a computing power of 100 tops.

BYD recently announced its plans to implement various levels of the God's Eye system across its entire vehicle range. This includes the integration of the basic God's Eye C system into the most affordable offering, the BYD Seagull.

The U9 supercar is based on the E4 platform with four electric motors, each with an output of 240 kilowatts. The maximum torque of the drivetrain is 1,680 newton meters. The motors accelerate the vehicle, which weighs just under 2.5 tons, from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds. The top speed is just under 310 km/h. The U9 has already been driven on the famous Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, albeit with a human driver.
