The Norwegian sovereign wealth fund 🇳🇴 has also invested half a billion USD in MicroStrategy / MichaelStrategy and thus in Bitcoin.

The Norwegians are doing so well over there. Our great nation remains opposed to casino rents, wonderful

@xzxzx
Isn't Micro Strategy also a bit of a casino? I don't understand why you don't invest directly in Bitcoin.

You're right.
I wasn't referring to MicroStrategy so much as to the direction Norway is taking in general

@Tenbagger2024 Could be regulations. The fund is not allowed to invest in crypto, but in equities. This is part of the idea behind MSTR's business model.

@xzxzx Well, with a casino pension you have a 50% chance of losing money. With our pension system, you have a 100% chance of losing money. So it's much safer and more predictable. #Idiocracy

Just to put this into perspective: The sovereign wealth fund has a volume of around EUR 1.7 trillion. The investment here therefore corresponds to approx. 0.03%

I don't like the way some people handle money, but it's not my tax revenue that's being squandered.
