Alphabet question

I joined Alphabet at the beginning of the year $GOOG (+1,17 %) at a price of €133. I now have a 60% profit and wanted to ask your opinion as to whether it makes sense to simply leave it lying around for the next few years or to realize profits and shift them into the $VWRL (-0,11 %) and redeploy them. What do you think? Many thanks in advance.

@jkb92 Alternatively, you could sell them and buy them back in a few weeks at a higher price. That's what some people do here in the forum :)

Beginner's mistake: Using past returns as a reason to sell or hold.

Don't be a beginner, assess the stock independently of your (more or less random) performance. 👍

I got in with a first tranche at USD 122 in 2023 and I'm not even thinking of selling. On the contrary, I only added more at USD 175 at the end of June. In my opinion, Google will outperform every world ETF over the next 10 years. Just leave it

Reallocate half (profit then continues to run diversified), other half for eternity.

Reallocating makes sense, for example, if a position becomes too large and you want to better allocate the risk. Otherwise, it also makes sense if you no longer believe in the business model or otherwise see a reason for a decline. Or you have a new stock that you expect to have a better risk/reward ratio. Or the withdrawal deadline is approaching and you want to reduce risk. But you have to decide all this for yourself ;-)

I joined Alphabet in June with 10k and have now taken a profit of 5700 euros (before tax). I will probably get back in at the next setback. I actually wanted to leave it, but every now and then you can realize profits, especially since I only make the 10k investments in individual stocks for short-term profit-taking. That went wrong with UnitedHealth, but this one easily makes up for it.
