Bitvavo no longer available for German customers in future

Originally, only German users could no longer register with Bitvavo. Now you have to leave Bitvavo.

Can anyone tell me how and where I can best store my cryptos ($RNDR (-9,65 %) Render Token, $BTC (-2,16 %) Bitcoin, $ETH (-3,29 %) Ethereum and $SOL (-4,37 %) Solana) in the future?

I'm leaning towards a cold wallet as a temporary solution (is there anything better than this cheap plastic ledger?) or Bitpanda.

I would generally advise everyone to store their coins themselves and not to hold them on an exchange (in case something like FTX happens again). There are many options for self-custody, but the safest is probably, as you said, to get a cold wallet. I have been using a ledger for a long time and apart from their questionable strategies and decisions, I have nothing to complain about and am quite happy with it. There are definitely some alternatives to Ledger, you can also look up what exactly is available on the Internet, e.g. on YouTube, and get opinions. I can give you a few more names that are very well known: Trezor, BitBox, Tangem. Personally, I was thinking about switching to a OneKey but have been too lazy so far. In any case, you should look into it beforehand and not transfer the coins from A to B without knowing what you are doing.

@CptnCrxnch You're right. I do the same with my BTC and ETH, as that's my main position.
But I also set up a savings plan for 2023, first with bittrex (they then discontinued their services) and then on Bitvavo. Simply invest a total of around €150 in each altcoin over the year via a savings plan. I don't have to store the coins somewhere if I only deposit €10-15 each month. It should have just been a simple bet that I could have liquidated after 2 years.

But not with the German state 😴👊

Personally, I am with Bitpanda - very satisfied, easy to use. Very well regulated and a top choice for Europe. I have no complaints!

@seppl6431 ditto, no problems so far and the service is also excellent.

@Aktienmanie @seppl6431 Does the automatic getquin import via the Bitpanda API also screw up so badly for you? At some point, Solana and Render Token will be set to sold, even if I haven't sold anything...

I can't get this corrected either, as it is updated from time to time and the error then reappears.

@Khlmysee Do you use staking/lending with Bitpanda for Solana and Render?
Imagen de perfil
@Khlmysee I do everything manually...
Imagen de perfil
@Kundenservice Yes, it was SOL and ETH, by the way. So if you are stacking, you have to maintain the portfolio manually and do without auto-import?

I am now new to bitpanda, the spreads at $ETH are always so ungodly high. Approx. 90€ so just under 2.7%

I'll look into it one of these days

@Koenigmidas and, have you come to yet? 😬
Imagen de perfil
@Khlmysee Yes, I moved the ones with transfer options to nexo and bison. And sold the non-transferable ones. My problem is my wallet ultimate was sold and will also be closed in 2 weeks. Now I have to look for a new wallet....

@Koenigmidas am up almost 200% on Render and don't want to have to pay ~ 42% tax. 😅

@Khlmysee I sold render at 67% singularity at over 300% and fetch ai also at over 200%

@Ogy93 Savings plan capable? Fees? Where do you see the main advantages?
Imagen de perfil
You can create a savings plan, very low fees and quite easy to use. Stake rewards are also available there. Withdrawals to the account are free of charge.

Cold wallet highly recommended
Following advice and YouTube videos, I opted for the Bitbox Multi Edition. It's a bit more expensive, but it's very easy to use and set up. I think the purchase was worth it. And generally speaking, a cold wallet is the safest....

A bitbox looks just as cheap.

That's why I went to BitPanda and got a mate to recommend it to me.
