Be honest - was that stupid?

I bought $UNH (-0,16 %) and, to be slightly self-critical, I also traded to a certain extent on emotion.

I saw it coming that I wouldn't catch the low point anyway, but often the biggest mistake is not buying at all.

At the moment the mood is maximally negative which is actually often one of the best times to buy because it ensures that news is interpreted maximally negatively e.g. the immediate resignation of the CEO for "personal reasons" can mean he is resigning for a reason he wants to keep secret & because things are going particularly badly OR it can be seen as a great opportunity for new impetus and a resignation that is really purely in the private sphere.

In any case, I now have an average price of €380 and just a month ago that would have been a dream buy-in. I know a thing or two about patience when investing - but a few too many long-term positions have really blown up in my face recently 😕

I understand... I feel the same way about LVMH

I almost got carried away by all the posts here on Getquin and had a real "FOMO" feeling for the first time. But then I decided against it from a rational point of view. I wish you maximum success and strong nerves for your investments in UH!

@FinanzPapa Is there a rational argument against it? I find it extremely difficult to assess, the news is objectively not the end of the world, but it invites a pessimistic interpretation. Now the question is whether this is justified.

It seems to me that the healthcare sector is very volatile.

@100erHebel Not historically, but since corona it really seems like healthcare is a lottery

In particular, I find the feeling of jet more volatile than in Europe

$UNH has such a big moat. Larger dips in such a company as is now the case should be used 😬 whether it is "only" -15%, -20%.
But in such a short time such a brutal sell-off of over 40% that most people would not have taken into account 🥲, nevertheless you can also see this sell-off as a gift for investors in my opinion 😬, I will scrape together some money in the next few days and invest 😆

I agree. Actually exactly as you said. I bought 3 shares for €400 each. I thought I had made a great deal. And now I keep buying more to improve my investment. You're always smarter with hindsight. But well, now $UNH will just stay put. Better times are coming.

I can understand that, I thought the first slide of -30% was a very good price to buy, but hardly anyone could have predicted that the price would fall so low today.
The return is the reward for the pain that you sometimes have to endure when building up assets.
Keep calm and ride out the correction, in my opinion UNH is still a top company with a high discount 😄

Personally, I'm a little cautious when it comes to health insurance.
Because healthcare costs are constantly rising. With an ageing population. Which, however, cannot be compensated for by increasing contributions. Which ultimately puts pressure on margins

@Tenbagger2024 well, the US insurers still have a lot of room for maneuver when it comes to lowering the quality of health care (model Germany). here, too, the health insurers are making good money, even though they have to insure millions and millions of people who have never paid in.

yes, you're right about the idea, but actually insurance is always a good business model because they make sure that everyone puts in more than they get out and you can work with the money in the meantime.

@Tenbagger2024 i also don't understand why trump's price reduction for drugs is so badly received. if drugs become cheaper, insurers will also pay less. i don't understand why pharma is falling but insurers are too. that can't be bad for both sides.

But I find property insurance significantly more attractive. And that's why I'm not interested in health insurance

@Soprano
Faith is simply the uncertainty that has once again been spread by 🍊. And everything in the sector is being sold off. You saw that at the beginning with the tariffs too, when people were just selling off without selecting

Hey, they've dipped even further since I joined 😂. Well, let's see, I'll buy a patch tomorrow if it continues like this and maybe grab it again.🤷‍♂️. There is still a bit of play money for such trades
