Indian manufacturer launches "Batmobile" SUV on the market for just 27,000 euros

Hello my dears,

Mahindra has been on my watch for some time due to its potential in agricultural machinery.

The Batmobile could perhaps now be a reason to get in.

What do you think of India?

Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.

Indian car manufacturer Mahindra recently unveiled its new electric SUV, the BE 6 Batman Edition. The collector's item is strictly limited and is already sold out.

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the world's most successful film series. The three films by star director Christopher Nolan have grossed 2.47 billion US dollars at the box office alone. The focus is on the comic book hero Batman, the alter ego of billionaire Bruce Wayne. As a young boy, he was forced to watch a gangster shoot his parents. In search of revenge and justice, he fights evil in the fictional "Gotham City". As a superhero without superpowers, Batman or "the Dark Knight" stands for intelligence, skill and technical know-how.

With a "rare combination of cinematic tradition and modern luxury", Indian car manufacturer Mahindra now wants to bring this feeling a little closer to its customers. Because the new electric SUV "BE 6 Batman Edition" promises exactly that: innovation, resilience and a relentless drive to push boundaries.

Indian SUV promises electric motor with Batman sound

The "Batman Edition" is a special edition of the BE6 electric SUV from Mahindra. This was unveiled back in 2024 and promises

a 79 kWh battery

A range of up to 550 kilometers

282 HP

380 newton meters of torque

a 3-in-1 drivetrain (210 kW output)

and a level 2 assistance system

According to the manufacturer, the driving experience should catapult car fans straight to Gotham City. In addition to "individual, Batman-inspired engine sounds", Mahindra promises "the thrill of Batman every time you drive."

The Batmobile is available from 27,000 euros - but so far only in India. It is already sold out there.

Batman details in gold and matt black - inside and out

According to Mahindra Chief Designer and Creative Director Pratap Bose, the team has taken care of the smallest details: "So that you can discover something new every time you look at it."

On the exterior, these include:

the special "Satin Black" color with special Batman decals on the front doors and rear door trim

R20 alloy wheels for an "aggressive, athletic look"

Alchemy Gold-painted suspension and brake callipers

the Bat emblem from "The Dark Knight" trilogy on the hubcaps, front side panels, rear bumper, windows and rear window

the "Night Trail" Infinity roof

Carpet lights with projection of the Bat emblem logo

According to the manufacturer, the interior also offers that superhero feeling. The equipment includes, among other things:

a plaque in "Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition" on the dashboard with numbering

Alcantara and leather seat covers with gold-colored sepia stitching

Gold accents on the steering wheel, in-touch controller,

electronic parking brake and a customized key fob with "Alchemy Gold" details

the Bat emblem is embossed on the boost button, the seats and the interior labels

Open racing car-style seat belts with Batman branding

Batman welcome animation on the infotainment display

Exclusive feel thanks to strictly limited edition

"Some vehicles are built to take you from one place to another. And then there are those that move you," Mahindra advertises the new "Batmobile"

.

However, this special edition will not be moving too many people. Even though Mahindra has already expanded the originally planned 300 vehicles due to the high demand. There will be a maximum of 999 vehicles.

The manufacturer wants to maintain exclusivity: "It's a collector's item on wheels," says Vikram Sharma, Head of Consumer Products at Warner Bros Discovery Asia Pacific, commenting on the partnership.

The first vehicles were delivered in true style on September 20 - known among fans as International Batman Day.

@Ash I am surprised by the poor performance of the ETF, as I also see great potential and high growth rates in the Indian economy.
Perhaps these ETFs hold too many stocks that have no potential for growth... 🤔

@TradingHase I think so too and that is the main reason why I reject country ETFs. You buy 80% junk. I think if you want to get into growth markets like India that are performing well, you should take a bit more time and filter out the most promising companies.

Forget country bets. Especially on countries like India... You can do individual stocks but you should be aware of the risk 🙊

@TradingHase What do you mean by poor performance? After all, the thing has made almost 90% since its launch, not bad for an ETF in 7.x years.

@finanzperpetuum Looking at Max, 10% per annum is ok, but looking at the last year, the performance is permanently worse. For me, this is a clear sign of too many weak stocks in the pot. Better to collect strong individual stocks. I think the overall performance will be much better.

Unfortunately, it is not so easy to invest in individual stocks in India.
Most of the time it is ADRs

Wouldn't MACI CHINA be better? :)

India is lowering VAT from today.
This is good for consumption. Especially for cars.

As always, a great post from you 👌 The SUV doesn't look too bad from the side. Sure, it's all a matter of taste, but if it only costs half as much as a Tiguan, that's something. In the end, it will be interesting to see what the quality is like, how it drives and what customers ultimately say about it. Has anyone here perhaps already taken a test drive and can report whether the car impresses or can be recommended? 🚗✨

@EpsEra The price sounds tempting at first, but these vehicles will not appear here. Lack of homologation for the European market and lack of distribution channels. Xiaomi will have positioned its vehicles recently presented at the IAA in Munich in the European market beforehand.
If the vehicles were to find their way to us, you would have to expect a surcharge of around 50-100%. (Example: the Xpeng G6 costs in Germany from just under 44k, in China from approx. 23k)
The quality is comparable between Dacia and Opel and is perfectly fine for the Indian market.

I think Mahindra has enough to do with serving the Indian, African and Asian markets. The report already says something about being sold out. Vw can only dream of that

Do you have the share in your portfolio or would it be something for you?

@Max095
I find them exciting because many people in India and Africa still don't own a car.
Similarly, many farmers in the agricultural sector still don't have a tractor and the simple models from mahindra fit well into the market.
