Nvidia $NVDA (+4,72 %) has announced plans to invest billions in the expansion of its US sites. The aim is to strengthen the production of AI chips on home soil and become less dependent on Asia. The project is also to be supported by funding from the US government. The investment is part of a broader strategy to meet the growing demand for AI technology and mitigate geopolitical risks. Analysts see the move as a sign of the growing importance of semiconductors in the US economy.
Together with TSMC, the company plans to invest a total of $2330 to invest up to 500 billion US dollars in additional servers.
