Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway announced a new $6.72 billion stake in insurer Chubb on Wednesday, confirming months of speculation about a major new investment. This makes Chubb one of Berkshire's top 10 holdings.

"Chubb is an attractive equity investment for Berkshire because it operates in an area Berkshire knows well: property and casualty insurance," Cathy Seifert, an analyst at CFRA Research who follows Berkshire, said in an e-mail.

I compared them with Allianz at Marketscreener because they are in roughly the same segment (not that I understand anything about it) and have the same market cap.

At first glance, Allianz actually looks better here. Also in terms of valuation.

But it's really a surprise, I watched/partly listened to the entire 7 hours of the AGM and it sounded like they don't know what to do with the money at the moment and then late yesterday evening the position suddenly appears at Dataroma 😅😂

Only the performance lags enormously.

(Total return, i.e. the dividend taken into account, not the pure chart performance as here on getquin)
