Flexjet makes Embraer happy with order worth billions

$ERJ (-3,9 %)

Flexjet orders 182 aircraft from Embraer and also secures options for further aircraft. It is the largest order in the company's history.

Flexjet continues its growth trajectory for the third year in a row. In 2023, the US business charter provider doubled its fleet of aircraft based in Malta and the United Kingdom. Last year, the airline announced plans to build its first private jet terminal in Europe at Farnborough Airport by 2026. Now the next step follows: Flexjet places a large order with Embraer.

The US company is ordering 182 aircraft from the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer and has secured options for a further 30 aircraft. The order also includes an extended service and support offer. According to the announcement, the order is worth seven billion dollars, making it the largest firm order in the history of both companies.

Fleet will double in size

This order will almost double the size of Flexjet's fleet over the next five years. Flexjet has ordered the Praetor 600, Praetor 500 and Phenom 300E models. "We are pleased to continue to offer Flexjet's customers access to our market-leading Phenom jets and our Praetor jets, the best in their respective categories," says Michael Amalfitano, Head of Embraer Executive Jets.

The partnership between Embraer and Flexjet began in 2003, and today Flexjet relies on the Praetor 600, Praetor 500 and Phenom 300 series, with the current fleet comprising a total of 128 Embraer jets. The press release also states that the Praetor 600 has been so well received in Europe that it has also been included in the North American fleet since 2023.
